Catherine Zeta-Jones doesn't want to be associated with a dog

Catherine Zeta-Jones was furious to learn her name was to inspire a canine character in the new movie "Snow Cake," and ordered her lawyers to halt the unflattering tribute immediately.

The film, starring Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman, was to feature a pooch bearing the same moniker as the Hollywood actress -- but Zeta-Jones was not amused.

An aide for production company Revolution Films says, "Her lawyers wrote back and said that on no account could her name be used for a dog."

Scriptwriter Angela Pell says, "I liked the idea of naming the dog Catherine Zeta-Jones, because in the film it belongs to a teenage girl, and I felt it was the kind of name a teenage girl might go for.

"It's a shame we had to change it -- it's only a story after all."
